Our Scholars
We are proud to have hosted a remarkable group of students and scholars at Bridge HIV over the years. Each is a scholar from one of the following programs:
Research and Mentorship Program (RAMP) for African-American and Latinx Medical Students
The RAMP program invests in the next generation of HIV researchers. Offered by the HIV Vaccine Trials Network, it provides African American and Latinx medical students with opportunities for independent research. In collaboration with the National Institute of Mental Health and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, each scholar is offered mentoring, project and salary funding, training, and professional development activities.
Summer HIV/AIDS Research Program (SHARP)
The Summer HIV/AIDS Research Program (SHARP) is a 12-week paid summer internship for students from underrepresented communities. The program aims to inspire students to pursue public health studies and careers in research. This includes clinical, socio-behavioral, and community-focused work. SHARP, funded by a National Institutes of Health grant, is housed in the San Francisco Department of Public Health.
