Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis Studies (PrEP)

PrEP is a promising new prevention method that can redefine how we fight this disease. PrEP is short for pre-exposure prophylaxis and refers to the use of anti-HIV medications by HIV-negative individuals to prevent HIV infection. PrEP can come in the form of a pill taken orally or a gel that is used vaginally or rectally.

PrEP studies are looking for healthy, HIV-negative volunteers, who are at least 18 years old. The medications we are testing cannot cause HIV infection.
